EDDIE Cross was taking a well-earned rest yesterday after completing a 14-hour triathlon to raise at least $60,000 for LeapFrog ability and the Brain Injury Unit.

The fitness fanatic began his gruelling swim, cycle and run around the Hunter on Saturday at 6am and finished at 8pm with a massage and ice packs before joining the supporters' after party.

He was joined at different stages of the course by 80 community members, including Olympic swimmers John Konrads and Justin Norris and Newcastle MP Jodi McKay.
